ENVIRONMENT:

YOUR strong numerical ability is wanted by an innovative Marketing Services Company to fill the role of its next Junior Accountant. You will post and process journal entries, maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable while assisting with the review of expenses, payroll records, weekly float reconciliations and keeping financial records updated via accounting software. The ideal candidate will possess a BCom Accounting / General Degree and have completed SAIPA Articles and have worked in a similar role with proficiency in Pastel Payroll, Sage Cloud Accounting, SARS eFiling and SARS easyFile.

DUTIES:

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Maintain Accounts Receivable and issue invoices.
• Maintain Accounts Payable and perform reconciliations.
• Assist with the review of expenses, payroll records, weekly float reconciliations etc. as assigned.
• Update financial records via accounting software.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
• Assist in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Assist with other accounting projects.
• Assist with BEE verification process.
• Prepare monthly VAT and EMP submissions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BCom Accounting or General.
• Completed SAIPA Articles.
• Proven experience as a Junior Accountant.
• Must be proficient in Pastel Payroll and Sage Cloud Accounting.
• Must be proficient in using SARS eFiling and SARS easyFile.
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
