ENVIRONMENT:

A provider of cutting-edge, tailored Software Solutions seeks the expertise of a Decision Scientist with demonstrated experience in interacting with clients and scoping data-centric projects. With your strong blend of Data Engineering and Data Science experience, you will work directly with clients to scope projects and translate business requirements into actionable, data-driven strategies. The successful incumbent must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Engineering or related quantitative field with a strong background in both Data Engineering (e.g., building ETL pipelines, data warehousing) and Data Science (e.g., Statistical Analysis, Predictive Modeling). You must also be proficient in SQL, SAS or Python. Any Regulatory experience such as IFRS9, ECL, Profitability Modelling, will prove beneficial.

DUTIES:

Client Engagement & Project Scoping -

• Meet with clients to understand their business challenges and data needs.
• Define project scopes and set clear, actionable objectives.

Data Engineering -

• Prototype data pipelines and data warehousing solutions.

Data Science & Analytics -

• Analyse complex datasets using statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
• Develop predictive models and create dashboards to drive strategic decision-making.
• Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement -

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Analysts, and business leaders.
• Stay current with industry trends and continuously refine data strategies.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications -

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Experience/Skills -

• Strong background in both Data Engineering (e.g., building ETL pipelines, data warehousing) and Data Science (e.g., Statistical Analysis, Predictive Modeling).
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages/tools: SQL, SAS, or Python.
• Demonstrated experience in interacting with clients and scoping data-centric projects.
• AWS and AI skills.

Advantageous -

• Regulatory experience, e.g. IFRS9, ECL, Profitability Modelling.
