We're on the lookout for a Buyer / Material Controller to join our well established and respected client based in Leicester on a full time, permanent basis.
Hours: Weekdays with an early finish on a Friday
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
The Role:
Your primary role as a Sales Advisor is to sell new homes at or above target prices within the forecast timescales and in line with any rules and regulations to ensure exceptional service to our clients customers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Undertake full ownership and control for the purchase order cycle from order placements, order acknowledgements and progress chasing through to final booking into stock.
· Raise ad hoc manual PO's for purchases via unapproved suppliers and initiate associated ad payment requests.
· Ensure the system contains accurate up to date item master details for the purchase of all materials (descriptions, part numbers, pricing, quantities, lead-times etc)
· Ensure all new suppliers are on-boarded in a timely manner.
· Maintain regular day to day communications with suppliers and work with them in relation to resolving issues, problems and disputes.
· Manage and improve supplier relationships
· Attend supplier meetings and site visits where required.
· Maintain key supplier audit schedules and support QA with supplier audits (remote + onsite)
· Work with the Suppliers and Engineering dept to ensure the suppliers have accurate latest sets of technical data (drawings, specs etc).
· Review inventory levels and report on non-moving stock profiles.
· Provide assistance to the Logistics/Shipping/Goods Inward dept.
Your Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will have experience with a similar Buyer role within a manufacturing environment. Additional skills required include:
· Keen, enthusiastic individual with good attitude towards work
· Approachable character with good interpersonal skills and who would be a good fit for the existing small office team
· Strong character who can defend our commercial positions and gain priority from suppliers for our work and orders
