IT Support Engineer

Are you currently looking to secure your next permanent opportunity within I.T?

Our client based in Kingston, is looking for an internal IT Support Engineer to join their team on a Full-Time Permanent basis.

Salary: 35k - 40k

Start Date: This is a temp to perm opportunity, so immediate availability

Location: Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames

Role Type: Initial office based 3-6 months - Hybrid working thereafter, 2 days from home.

Hours: 40 per week - 8:00-17:00 Mon-Fri

Holiday: 25 days

Duties and Responsibilities of IT Support Engineer:

  • Analyse and solve user problems that arise
  • Installation, configuration and support of IT systems
  • Collaboration in First-/Second-Level Support
  • Support of the server, client & network infrastructure
  • Management of local IT inventory and support for project-related activities such as hardware refreshes, software tests and various rollouts
  • Extending and optimising the existing IT security
  • Participate in on-boarding and off boarding of employees IT equipment and access
  • Ensuring availability of internal network
  • Ensuring VPN systems are active and compliant with latest regulations and resolve any internal issues as and when need arises
  • Liaise between Head office, external IT support and internal customers to resolve any issues as required
  • Auditing software on company equipment

The Successful candidate:

  • Knowledge of AD, Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Networking
  • Diploma or Degree in an I.T related field
  • Understanding of Hardware, building PC's
  • Working knowledge of Firewalls
  • Basic Knowledge of SAN and access points
  • Understanding of Internet service providers
  • Audit all IT system to ensure that they are current and compliant
  • Support in achieving internal IT accreditation
  • Ensure all IT policies are current, implemented and compliant with company standards and latest legislation's
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 and IP phones
  • Working knowledge of Android and iOS devices
  • Involvement in the completion of any secure questionnaires as and an when required

The Employment Agencies Act (EAA) is a piece of legislation which sets a minimum standard of conduct for recruitment agencies in the UK.

What does the EAA mean for me?

Limited Company contractors

If you are a Limited Company contractor, you can 'opt out' of the regulations. Whilst the regulations have been conceived to ensure greater legislative protection for candidates, there may be issues which conflict with the spirit of the IR35 rules.

Opting out of the regulations will have benefits if you decide that you want to be considered self-employed. This will mean you will not be afforded the same protection as that of our PAYE workers but does bring you a step closer to being seen as genuinely self-employed and therefore could be viewed as outside the scope of the IR35 tax rules. If you wish to opt-out, you need to do so before your contract starts. To do this, please inform your consultant and sign and return the EAA opt-out form. Please note if we do not receive your signed form then your opt-out will be invalid.
